David Ellis, CEO, and co-founder of MassAmerican Energy and Hampshire Power Corporation is a highly experienced solar industry leader and seasoned business veteran.

He spent 12 years in the Manufacturing Liquidation business, serving the Turnaround & Restructuring industry. His extraordinary team-building skills brought together the equipment, WIP, accounts receivable, intellectual property and real estate experts that delivered the cash flow in the timeframes needed for successful turnarounds. Ellis’s leadership skills have been key attributes to his past and present success.

Ellis transitioned from the liquidation to the solar industry in 2010. He began his solar career with Sunrun managing its existing east coast partners and bringing on new partners, which led to Sunrun’s highly successful expansion into east coast markets.

Ellis then brought Next Step Living into partnership with Sunrun and became the head of the Solar Division. Under David’s leadership, Next Step Living become the largest residential solar company on the east coast with more than 100 monthly installations.

Always the entrepreneur, in 2012, Ellis co-founded Boston-based MassAmerican Energy, serving as the company’s Managing Director. MassAmerican focused on C&I solar markets. During this time, MassAmerican developed and installed more than 100 projects.

In 2020, MassAmerican Energy expanded into retail power supply, and attribute monetization with the acquisition of Hampshire Power Corporation, also based in Massachusetts. The companies now do business under the Gridwealth brand and offer expanded services that include energy consulting, power procurement, C&I scale solar, traditional solar farm and battery storage development. Gridwealth generates long-term revenue for customer buildings, while reducing GHG emissions.

Quincy is an attorney and general contractor with expertise in solar policy, economics, and installations. With a 25-year solar career, he has worked for the Massachusetts DPU and the Renewable Energy Trust Fund. Quincy has provided legal services for various clean energy and green building projects ranging from hydropower to biofuels. Quincy received a BS in engineering from Dartmouth College and holds an MBA from Yale University, a JD from Union University’s Albany Law School, and a master’s in environmental law from Vermont Law School.

Leading the company’s strategy, Todd brings over 12 years of renewable energy experience, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning skills from his guidance of the Hampshire Council of Governments and its successful Hampshire Power programs. Before Gridwealth, Todd co-founded RiverStone Design Group, a sustainable urban design firm, and held various public sector roles. He has an MA in urban & environmental policy & planning from Tufts University and a BA in environmental studies from St. Lawrence University.

Jeremy has two decades of experience in retail energy. He has built and led successful sales teams at Constellation, Direct Energy, Champion, Hudson, and Shell Energy where he most recently served as vice president of national C&I indirect sales. At Shell Energy, he successfully expanded footprints into PJM, NYISO, and ISONE. He and his wife live in Woodlands, TX.

R.T. was 13 years of experience leading revenue generation in clean energy both domestically and internationally. He has closed over 900 MW of project acquisitions and co-development partnerships across the U.S., led the development of 700+ MW of photovoltaic and battery energy storage system projects globally, and executed more than $1B of utility and distributed generation solar contracts.

Along this journey, he has run his own company and worked for pre-revenue start-ups, scale-ups, and publicly traded firms.  He lives in lived in Boulder, Colorado.

Rick is an experienced executive with over 20 years of public accounting experience and 15 years in the industry, including CFO, COO, and VP of Operations roles. Rick began his career with one of the largest international accounting firms and has financial, operational, audit, and compliance experience in the renewable energy, construction, manufacturing, technology, and distribution industries.

Rick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a graduate of Salem State College and holds an MBA from Babson College.

John oversees all financial and risk management operations. With over 25 years of energy experience, he has built successful finance teams and communicated financial strategies. John previously served as CFO of Actual Energy Inc., was VP of Finance and co-founder of Mint Energy LLC and led Patriot Energy Group’s retail natural gas and electric brokerage operations. He also held roles at Sempra Energy Trading Corp. and Enron Corp. John holds a BSBA in accounting from Georgetown University and an MBA in finance from Fordham University.

John is the CMO at Gridwealth. John founded Hanock Consulting, a marketing practice helping companies with category creation, communications and PR strategies, messaging, demand generation, customer segmentation, and fundraising.

Prior to Hanock, John held several leadership positions in private equity, growth-stage start-ups, and Fortune 500 companies. He has experience in marketing, fundraising & investing, strategy, and product development with domain expertise in automation, machine learning, and wireless technologies and has served on several boards.

John holds a BA in economics from Harvard University and an MBA from Duke University.
